LBTC on Layer-1s

As part of our roadmap, we aim to enrich Lombard's DeFi ecosystem by furthering LBTC's reach. One part of this enrichment involves expanding LBTC integrations to other Layer-1s. Traditionally, users stake their Bitcoin by sending a staking transaction via the Bitcoin network, and minting LBTC on the Ethereum network. As part of Lombard's expansion, users will now be able to stake BTC derivatives on other Layer-1s and mint LBTC on other chains.

Lombard is building a bridge which will enable users to seamlessly move their LBTC between ecosystems. This bridge will further enhance users' DeFi accessibility, and allow maximal engagement for LBTC holders.

Layer-1 Integrations:

BNB Smart Chain (BSC): Binance's BNB Smart Chain, abbreviated to BSC, allows users to stake BTCB and mint LBTC on BSC.
