Lux & Luminary Program

At Lombard, we are committed to building a robust DeFi ecosystem around LBTC and recognizing our users who support us in this mission. The Luminary Program is a long-term initiative designed to reward both early and loyal participants, and light a path for newcomers with opportunities to engage and grow alongside us. Lombard Lux are the denominations awarded within the program; Lux comes from the Latin word for light!

Receiving Lux

All things relating to Lux fall within the Luminary Program. There are three main ways to engage with Lombard Lux: staking and holding LBTC; placing LBTC into the Lombard DeFi Vault or one of our DeFi integrations; and through the Luminary Program's special events. Importantly, staking BTC and holding LBTC is a foundational step in engaging with Lombard’s ecosystem.

1. Staking BTC & Holding LBTC

The simplest way to obtain Lux is by holding the LBTC received from either staking BTC through Lombard, or by exchanging other assets for LBTC. As you hold LBTC, you accumulate Lux, which are distributed hourly using the formula below.

No. of Lux = Days Staked x Amount of LBTC x 1,000

For example, a user staking 0.01 BTC for one day receives 10 Lux. Note: Accumulating Lux in multiple addresses does not offer an added advantage over accumulating it all in a single address.

2. Ecosystem Engagement

As we expand our partnerships and integrations, users will have further opportunities to avail of Lux multipliers by participating in whitelisted ecosystem projects.

On the LBTC in DeFi page, you will find the list of DeFi opportunities with respective Lux multipliers.

The Lombard DeFi Vault offers the highest Lux multiplier available, providing an opportunity to maximize Lux while benefiting from an automated, yield-optimized, one-click DeFi management experience.

3. Special Events

The Luminary Program comprises three types of activities, including;

  • Flash Events: High-reward, time-sensitive events. Act fast or miss out.

  • Spark Initiatives: Community-driven challenges like content creation and our referral program to spark engagement and collective rewards.

  • Reflections: Retroactive rewards for loyal users with consistent staking activity, and for key moments in time.

When these events are live, more information will be provided on our Discord, X (Twitter), and updated on our Gitbook.

Tracking and Displaying Lux

Lombard Lux are tracked in collaboration with Sentio, a blockchain infrastructure platform, capturing all protocol activities. Sentio monitors your LBTC holdings, both in wallets and DeFi positions, and calculates holding times to ensure accurate number of Lux.

Lombard Lux are displayed on the Lombard App. Simply connect your wallet and navigate to the DeFi tab to view received Lux.
