Unstaking LBTC

A comprehensive guide to get you started with Unstaking LBTC,

Introduction

Users can unstake their BTC at any time to a chosen recipient address. A withdrawal period of 7 days is required by Lombard and Babylon for security. After that, your BTC will be available.

Step 1: Initiate Unstake

To begin unstaking, navigate to the dashboard and click the “Unstake” button.

Step 2: LBTC Unstake Interface

From the menu, please select both the network you wish to unstake LBTC from and the amount of LBTC you wish to unstake.

Step 3: Connect your BTC Recipient Address

Users can either connect to a wallet using the interface or manually enter a BTC address to withdraw to. Connecting a wallet using the built-in feature:

Choose your wallet from the list (e.g. Metamask, OKX wallet).

Once your wallet is connected, the BTC recipient address will automatically populate the field.

Manually enter the BTC recipient address:

In the LBTC unstake window, you can manually enter or paste the BTC recipient address to funds to.

Step 4: Review the Unstake Details

Ensure the BTC recipient address is correct, review the network security fee displayed, and check the unstaking time—usually seven days.

Step 5: Confirm the Unstake Transaction

After verifying all the details, click the “Unstake” button at the bottom of the interface. Your connected wallet will prompt you to confirm the transaction. Review the transaction details and click “Confirm”.

Step 6: Unstake in Progress

Once you confirm the transaction, a screen will appear showing the unstake is in progress.

Click “Go to Dashboard” to return to the main interface.

Once you return to the dashboard, you will be able to monitor the unstaking status. The transaction will take just after 7 days to complete (the Babylon unstaking period), after which the BTC will be available at the specified recipient address.
