Minting LBTC

A comprehensive guide for minting LBTC.

Introduction

You must first stake BTC to be able to mint LBTC. See our Staking BTC document for more information.

Minting converts the staked BTC amount into the liquid token LBTC.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1: Access the Lombard Dashboard

Navigate to the Lombard dashboard. Ensure that there is staked BTC available for minting.

Step 2: Initiate the LBTC minting

Click the “Mint LBTC” button next to the staked BTC balance to initiate the minting process.

Step 3: Confirm the Transaction

After clicking “Mint LBTC,” a confirmation window will pop up in your connected wallet (e.g., OKX Wallet).

Review the details of the transaction in the wallet interface, including the amount of LBTC to be minted and the associated fees. Then click “Confirm” to authorize the transaction.

Step 4: Monitor Minting Status

Next to the “Mint LBTC” button, the number of completed confirmations will be displayed. After all 6 confirmations are complete, you can then press the “Mint LBTC” to finalize the minting process.

Step 5: Select Wallet to Deposit LBTC

After clicking “Mint LBTC,” a new window will appear. Select “Add LBTC to my wallet” and review the token details in the wallet interface.

Click “Confirm” to finalize wallet details.

Step 6: Add LBTC to Wallet

Select “Add LBTC to my wallet” to add LBTC to your current wallet. Follow your wallet's instructions for how to import/add token, using the LBTC contract and token address: 0x8236a87084f8B84306f72007F36F2618A5634494 .

Once the minting process is complete, your LBTC balance will be updated in the dashboard, and the tokens will be available in your connected wallet for further use in DeFi applications or other activities.
